Let Us Eat Cake!

One of my most favorite hobbies in the world is decorating cakes! I've done tons and tons over the past few years and have improved more and more. I'll be posting pictures of my cakes as I do them, but we have some time to catch up on, so here's a timeline of some of the cakes that I've made over the years.

Yes, its true..not all cakes turn out Cake Boss worthy..This was from a couple of years ago. I was so proud of  it at the time that I didn't let anyone eat it!

ASU vs. USC Basketball

On Saturday night, we went to an ASU basketball against USC.  They did great, and the score was really close until the end when ASU got ahead and won 56-51. We had a great time and we're definitely going to go to another game in the future!

Rawhide!

Over this past weekend, Rawhide Wild West Town was having a special for its 41st anniversary and the admission was free! We went last year for their 40th, but it was so crowded that we didn't get to do much. We went as soon as it opened on Sunday and the lines weren't bad although they got worse as it got later. They had free lassos and cowboy hats, which were cute. We went to one of their short 15 minute performances called the Texas Kate Wild West show. One of the tricks was having their dog actually ride on the horse. It was entertaining, although I was worried that the dog was going to fall off the whole time. We ate at one of their restaurants called the Bullwhip BBQ Steakhouse and it was good. It was about $7 per person, except that they had corndogs for $3.50. You can wander around their cute western shops and they have a museum that's free. They also had an ice cream shop, a western store and a sweets shop. We went into the sweet shop and they had the BEST homemade fudge ever! We also rode on the Stagecoach, which was interesting. We went panning for gold, and it was probably the best attraction there. We didn't do any other attractions but for children they have burro rides, a petting zoo and even a mechanical bull. On a regular day, you pay per attraction, but they have buy one get one free attractions often. They actually have one coming up for next weekend, March 3rd and 4th! I'm guessing that if you go on a regular day, the lines won't be nearly as long. Overall it was a good day, especially since we spent it with friends and family! It would be a good place to take smaller children especially since its less expensive than regular theme parks.
